In this episode, we will talk about the one thing that was crucial to me reaching FIRE in my financial journey!
By God’s wonderful grace, I was able to reach FIRE--financial independence retire early--when I was 40 years old….And I did not starve/deprive myself to do it!
The tool that helped me to achieve this feat get’s a bad rap! It’s not popular nor sexy, but it’s the B Word...BUDGET!
I achieved FIRE by using a budget!!!!!
I start out talking about this because none of the other tools, tips, or strategies that I mention will make a difference, if you do not or will not budget your money.
A budget is simply: income minus expenses. That’s it. And, in my opinion, it’s the best way to financial freedom.
I talk about how I used my budget in two separate instances as a forecasting tool to help me see where I wanted to be and how to get there!
